Tides and Waves

Worry less about each wave, and more about which direction the tide is going.

Worry less about each wave, and more about which direction the tide is going.

Most anxiety is about waves — the setback, the embarrassment, the bad week. But a wave is a surface event. What determines the outcome of a life is the underlying current: the habits, the values, the trajectory that compounds quietly over years. Waves that seem catastrophic leave no trace when the tide is moving the right way. Waves that seem manageable swallow everything when it isn’t.

Fix the tide. The waves take care of themselves.
